Barcelona - Old Town

We started our holiday REALLY early with a 6am flight to Barcelona!! The boys did great and we all arrived excited to see what Barcelona had in store.

We had 2 full days staying in the old quarter of El Born before our cruise.

The area is made up of lots of back alleys, old tall buildings, shops and squares with lots of cafes sprinkled around.

Each morning we went out to find a different cafe to enjoy breakfast at.

We spent most of our time meandering around learning to manage the heat. Tae loved Tim helping him to jump over all the posts and having him chase around after him. I love the picture below as Tim is wagging his finger whilst telling Tae to stop running:)

The hotel we stayed at was great (they even had our rooms ready for early check in at 10am). It was a small place with a rooftop pool, which was blissful to cool off in after a day walking around the city!

Tim and Tae were very excited when we discovered a huge sweet shop. Tim was especially facinated. He had never seen so many sweets in one place before. Obviously, we had to stop and do a little boy shopping.

We also explored the amazing food market right in the city center. The colours, the smell and variety was beautiful and overwhelming.

After so much walking and exploring there was also quite a few breaks that looked a lot like this:

To be continued, next stop was our cruise!
